Solar Suitcases for Third-World Countries
Telling a give-back story is always a favorite of mine as I believe social media audiences certainly don’t always want to only be schooled on something or sold something. They want to see a brand they care about do something good in the world, too. SunPower partnered with an organization to build these portable solar-powered suitcases that bring light to places without reliable electricity.
Behind the Scenes at SunPower's Silicon Valley R&D Lab
No, we’re not about to do brain surgery. This is what a stroll through a clean room looks like in a solar technology research lab.

Candid Moments are Captivating
I favor photographing real-life moments over posed shots. It conveys an emotion and as a result is more likely to elicit a strong reaction in the viewer and inspire action. In this case our aim was to help company employees relate to our efforts to discuss diversity issues in the highly male-dominated solar industry.

Happy Solar Customers
I met John Hall on SunPower’s social media channels, where he posted a comment about how happy he was with his new solar system. While some people think solar is for hippies, John is a humble truck driver for an oil company who was attracted by the opportunity to save money. His first bill with solar was around $4.53. I arranged to have him featured in a testimonial video.

No Posed Photos Please
I always strive to capture emotions and action in my photography to hopefully stir my audience to feel something about the topic. In this shot, a solar sales manager is giving his team a spirited lesson in how to show off SunPower technology to prospective customers.
